Strange start as I set off to find for my uncle who had visited to see the new baby and got lost when walking his dog in the local forest (with a hand drawn map supplied by me!)

Did the normal dog walk loop until the first possible detour and then struck off the 'beaten track'. had a good mile flat out and then stopped for a chat with a local. No sign of uncle so hit the pedals again.

Hammered down a narrow muddy track, over the wet stuff and burst out on to the gravel track...I had forgotten how good this can be:-)

Churned out another mile until the fork in the track, chose left and got a call from mum to say Uncle was stood at road side next to a mobile phone arial...where could that be?

Set off back in the direction of the road and had a blat down some nice (gentle hills). hit the road, went back to the car. Wore my underpants over my trousers and rescued Uncle. Got lots of praise from mum and aunt and then collapsed in a heap on the sofa.,

Probably covered 6+ miles at a fair pace (with allowance for age) whilst wearing jeans, sandals and a casual shirt....great fun and not bad for an old timer!.

Must get out more often, I had fogotten how much fun this is!
